Indi Theatre Picnic

After the great turn out last year, we are throwing another Indi Theatre Picnic – *except this time it’s an evening of pizza and beers at our new digs down in the Rocks. Info below.

When: Tuesday June 7, 6.30pm kick off.

Where: Level 2, 10 Hickson Road, The Rocks (aka Critical Stages new HQ).

What: Critical Stages invites the Sydney indi theatre cats to join us for a beer, a view of the harbour and a slice of pizza. The event is a chance to brainstorm with your peers, network, have a blather about what you’re working on and hear more about how you can tour your work.

VIPs: We will rustle up some good theatre guests from around Sydney for you to meet and chat to. TBC.

Agenda: We will crowd source a loose agenda on the night, so think about any topics you’d like covered.

CALLING ALL EMERGING PRODUCERS

Are you sick of working from home?

Here at Critical Stages we are throwing open our doors and inviting you to share our office as a creative and administrative space.

We are looking for a dynamic and driven independent producer, company, collective or theatre maker to join us as a resident for 2015/16.

The residency provides infrastructure, support, guidance and mentor advice to producers on their productions, pull on the collective knowledge of professional producers and arts administrators on all areas of production including marketing, publicity, casting, design, funding and grant applications. Use us as a sounding board to help you get your show up and running.

 What we are offering:

  • Access to office infrastructure - internet, photocopying, fax, phone, stationary supplies, kitchen facilities, meeting facilities;
  • The residency will be active from September 2015 through to June 2016.
  • One on one mentoring to look at company planning – long and short term, marketing strategy, publicity and touring potential;
  • Regular networking opportunities with other residents and industry guests to share resources and knowledge;
  • Limited access to the office biscuits and much more…!

CALLING ALL EMERGING PRODUCERS!

 

Critical Stages knows what it is like to be an independent producer. Our core business is to work closely with the independent theatre sector to find another life for the outstanding work being produced by independent companies.

 

We want to work even closer with those producers, companies, collectives currently creating work this year. We want to offer further support and foster independent producers to do what they do, in a creative space, with guidance from professional producers who are also actively engaged in the independent sector this year.

 

The residency provides infrastructure, support, guidance and mentor advice to producers on their productions, pull on the collective knowledge of professional producers and arts administrators on all areas of production including marketing, publicity, casting, design, funding and grant applications. Use us as a sounding board to help you get your show up and running.

 

What we are offering:

  • Access to office infrastructure - internet, photocopying, fax, phone, stationary supplies, kitchen facilities, meeting facilities;
  • Participate in fortnightly catch-up sessions with the Critical Stages team and the 2014 Residents to help you address issues facing you right now;
  • One on one mentoring to look at company planning – long and short term, marketing strategy, publicity and touring potential;
  • Regular networking opportunities with other residents and industry guests to share resources and knowledge;
  • And much more…!

 

Past residents include: Arthur, Squabbalogic, Tin Shed Theatre Company, Workhorse Theatre Company and Suzie Miller.
